Paper Grade and Edge Quality
Identify virgin or recycled kraft, grammage, thickness and any coating. Agree how the slit edge will be inspected for loose fibres, dust and roughness using representative material.
DJH MACHINERY · APPLICATION SELECTION
Specify a kraft paper slitter rewinder around grammage, parent-roll weight and the narrow rolls needed for packaging or further converting. Compare large finished-roll formats with differential-shaft layouts before selecting the machine.

MATERIAL, CUTTING & WINDING
Identify virgin or recycled kraft, grammage, thickness and any coating. Agree how the slit edge will be inspected for loose fibres, dust and roughness using representative material.
Provide incoming width, diameter, actual weight and core dimensions. Diameter alone does not establish the loading capacity; confirm the handling route and floor plan.
List each slit width, the number of lanes, core size and target finished diameter. Agree roll firmness and telescoping acceptance for the next converting operation.
CONFIGURATION COMPARISON
These configurations are starting points for an application review. Material thickness range, operating speed and achievable roll quality must be agreed for the selected setup.
Explore QFJ-A400 specifications ↗ — horizontal air-shaft rewinding; listed speed 400 m/min, parent Ø 1,200 mm and finished Ø 1,000 mm.
| Model | Construction and selection | Key configuration values |
|---|---|---|
| QFJ-A500 | A horizontal layout to assess when you need several slit lanes rewound on differential shafts and the parent and finished rolls fit the listed capacities. Start with the web structure and required roll firmness, then review the working width and lane pattern. | Listed speed: 500 m/min Minimum slit: 20 mm Parent-roll diameter: 800 mm |
| QFJ-AF400 | Start with AF400 when large finished rolls and a separate unwind section are important to the production layout. Compare roll weight, loading access and the finished-roll removal route alongside working width. A larger roll envelope can reduce the frequency of roll changes, but the complete handling plan still needs to suit the installation. | Listed speed: 400 m/min Minimum slit: 30 mm Parent-roll diameter: 1,200 mm |
| QFJ-LM400 | Consider LM400 when large finished rolls and wider webs determine the machine choice. Its 100 mm minimum slit makes it a different starting point from narrow-lane differential-shaft models. Include roll mass, floor loading, loading access and the removal route in the layout review. | Listed speed: 400 m/min Minimum slit: 100 mm Parent-roll diameter: 1,500 mm |
Roll diameter is separate from working width and roll weight. A listed speed is not a material-specific performance guarantee.
PREPARE YOUR RFQ
Provide grade, layer structure, grammage or thickness, coating and representative material for review.
List parent-roll width, diameter, weight and core; each finished width, lane count, finished diameter and core size.
State target output, quality criteria, utilities, destination and handling needs. Request separate identification of included controls, options, commissioning, delivery basis and acceptance conditions.
BEFORE YOU SPECIFY
Start with the QFJ-A400 and AF400 air-shaft formats when the listed 1,000 mm finished diameter is relevant. The LM400 has a different ground-roll layout and a listed 1,200 mm finished diameter. Confirm roll weight and material suitability for each proposal.
No universal grammage or thickness range is assumed. Send the actual grade, coating, slit pattern and sample so cutting and winding requirements can be reviewed.
This application page compares kraft-paper requirements across configurations. The A400 detail page describes one specific machine and its working-width options.
TECHNICAL READING
Razor and shear cutting are different approaches, and their suitability depends on the actual paper and required edge. Compare the cutting arrangement against grammage, coating and production conditions.
Kraft-paper converting requirements vary with grammage, parent-roll size and finished-roll use. Start with those conditions to frame a machine discussion and assess the proposed scope.
Rough edges should be described against the paper grade, blade arrangement and operating conditions. Document the defect and follow approved procedures when seeking a configuration or maintenance review.
